A missed vaccine
It all started with something I forgot. Fremen’s vaccine — my dog. Two months late. Nothing serious, but that day I realized something: the problem wasn’t me. It was the lack of any proper tool.
No reminders. No simple way to track things. A paper health booklet somewhere in a drawer, probably lost since the last move.
46% of pet owners forget
When I dug into it, I found that 46% of pet owners forget their animal’s parasite treatments. Dewormers, vaccines, weigh-ins. You forget because life moves fast and no tool actually helps.
And at the same time, every year, 300,000 animals are abandoned in France. Shelters are overflowing. Volunteers are burning out.
Two problems, one solution
Wagly was born from this double reality. On one side, pet owners who mean well but forget. On the other, shelters that lack funding.
The solution: a simple, effective pet health tracker where at least 25% of profits go directly to shelters. Not a vague promise. A concrete commitment, verified every quarter.
How it works
You subscribe (4.99/month). You track your pets’ health. Wagly reminds you what needs to be done. And a portion of your subscription funds shelters. That’s it.
No ads. No data sold. No complicated business model.
What about the shelters, specifically?
I’m right in the middle of launching. I don’t yet know how I’ll select the shelters. I don’t yet know what system I’ll put in place to send them the money. But I know I’m going to do it. Otherwise, I don’t see why I’d charge anything.
The truth is, nobody really knows how to help a shelter. Which one do you give to? How much? Do you wire money? Is it reliable? It’s always unclear.
With Wagly, it’s simple: you pay your subscription to track your pet’s health, and I take care of getting the money to the shelters. You don’t have to do anything extra.
That’s phase 2 of Wagly. First, launch the app properly. Then, build the system to choose shelters, establish a list, and grow the user base so we can give them as much money as possible.
As soon as that’s in place, I’ll write an article explaining everything. How I choose, how much they receive, why them. Full transparency.
What comes next
The first transparency report will be published as soon as the first donations are made. Exact revenue, profits, amount donated, recipient shelter. Everything will be public.
And within the year, a free version of Wagly for shelters. Every animal with a digital health record. Every adoption with a complete file transfer.
Take care of them
Wagly is my project. Built alone, with Fremen by my side. If you want to take care of your pet and help shelters at the same time, download Wagly.
25% is a floor, not a ceiling.
